Russ has demonstrated his versatility by working in an absurdly eclectic range of computational pursuits, including compiler design, network device servers, embedded software for peripherals and consumer products, microprocessor instruction fetch architecture, Internet content harvesting and conversion for eBook display, etc...

He has also demonstrated his persistence by having held, at one time or another, each chapter officer position in SDACM for the last decade or more.
