He is also an experienced project manager, consultant to management, and expert witness.

Barry is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, and is active in numerous professional organizations, including the Corporate Directors Forum, the San Diego Software Industry Council, and the San Diego Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM co-chair). It has performed system architecture and design, software project management, acquisitions evaluation, and programming services for its clients, including: AT&T, Sterling Software (now Computer Associates), Orban (Harmann International), Symantec, Harcourt Brace, Berkeley Process Control, and Digital Descriptor Systems.
