ACM, the Association for Computing Machinery, is an international scientific and educational organization dedicated to advancing the arts, sciences, and applications of information technology. With a world-wide membership of 80,000, ACM functions as a locus for computing professionals and students working in the various fields of Information Technology.

ACM publishes, distributes, and archives original research and firsthand perspectives from the world's leading thinkers in computing and information technologies. ACM offers over two dozen publications that help computing professionals negotiate the strategic challenges and operating problems of the day. The ACM Press Books program covers a broad spectrum of interests in computer science and engineering.

Beginning this year, ACM brings a six-year archive of journals, magazines, and conference proceedings as well as the current issues of magazines and journals, online through the ACM Digital Library. ACM is also recognized world-wide for its published curricula recommendations, both for colleges and universities and for secondary schools that are increasingly concerned with preparing students for advanced education in the information sciences and technologies.
